In this Lecture, Shaykh Yaser Birjas diagnoses a malaise affecting our Salah, the second most important aspect of our religion after the Shahadah.  He explains why we do not benefit from our Salah, why our minds are distracted, and why our prayers are sometimes mere chores of the limbs.  This lecture opens our minds to the causes for the above problems and goes on to propose a practical methodology by which we can strengthen our connection with the Creator.  InshAllah, by the end of this lecture, we will be able to recognize the problems affecting our Salah, realize the importance of Khushoo, as well as learn techniques of gaining Khushoo in Salah.

Yaser Birjas is originally from the holy land of Palestine and was born in Kuwait. He graduated as class valedictorian with the highest honors from University of Madinah’s College of Shariah (Fiqh and Usul) in 1996. He had the honor to interact and learn from a number of highly respected scholars such as Shaikh Ash-Shanqitee and Shaikh Al-Uthaimeen (rahimahu Allah).

After graduating from the University of Madinah, Yaser Birjas went on to work as a youth counselor and relief program aide in war-torn Bosnia. Thereafter, he immigrated to the U.S. where he is presently an Imam (spiritual leader and advisor) at The Islamic Center in El Paso, Texas. He is also an instructor at AlMaghrib Institute, an organization that provides trademark double-weekend seminars leading its students towards a bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies.

Br. Birjas is comprhensive as he always is.(By Allah's Mercy)...you will benifit even if you have Khushoo!! Since people say" Ah the Cd is incomplete.... If your are looking for a companion book: Only $3.50 Al-Khushoo By: Muhammad Saliah Al-Munajjid Publisher:International Islamic Publishing House (IIPH) Salah (daily prayer) is the greatest practical pillar of Islam and khushoo (concentration) in salah is required by Islam. Khushoo means calmness, concentration, humility, and bring present-minded while performing prayers. Fear of Allah (swt) is the most important cause of khushoo as one always thinks that Allah is always watching over him. Making the heart submissive and humble before Allah (swt) is one of the most important causes of khushoo, because if a heart is corrupted by the insinuating whispers of Satan the acts of the body faculties will also be corrupt. Part of khushoo is to be submissive and humbling oneself out of the fear of God.
