Shaykh Muhammad explains how scholars identify the sources of Islamic Law, how Halal/Haram are extracted from these sources, and the correct application of this process. He further details such things as who is it that has the authorization to approve laws in Islam, how are texts from the Qur'an and Sunnah analyzed, and how apparently contradicting sources are reconciled. These lectures have been organized to present a vast and intricate subject in a simple and systematic manner. In a sense, Usool al-Fiqh allows the listener a sneak peak in to the scholars’ bag of tools. The study of Usool al-Fiqh, or the principles of how something becomes law in Islam, is considered to be the “grammer” of Islamic Law. Muhammad Alshareef was born and raised in Canada. In his youth, he memorized the Qur’an and later graduated with an Islamic Law degree from the Islamic University of Madinah, class of 1999. He is the founder of AlMaghrib Institute through which he teaches university-level seminars on Islam. AlMaghrib Institute seminars have been established in 15 cities across the USA and Canada.
